CARB Public Workshop: Updates to Area Source Methodologies
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) invites you to participate in a public workshop to discuss proposed updates to several area source emissions estimation methodologies. These updates are part of CARB’s ongoing commitment to ensuring emissions inventory methods remain scientifically robust and reflective of the latest data.

Purpose of the Workshop
The workshop will provide an overview of proposed updates to methodologies found in the following major source categories:
Commercial Cooking
Dairy/Livestock Waste; Feedlot Dust
Silage
Soil NOx and NH3
Farming Operations Dust
Unpaved Farm/Non-farm Road Dust
Paved Road Dust
Windblown Dust
Building/Road Construction Dust
Residential Wood Combustion
Residential Waste Burning
Domestic Ammonia
Stationary Diesel Engines
These updates are being made to improve the accuracy of emissions data used in statewide, regional, and community-scale air quality planning. They reflect new activity data, updated emission factors, and recent scientific studies. Detailed information on existing methodologies can be found on CARB’s Index of Methodologies by Major Category. Slides of the workshop will be made available on our webpage prior to the workshop.
